My Ebay listing

On Sunday they were passing out mugs at my church. Brian said "I know these are worth a lot of money so don't take them all and put them on ebay." At that moment I thought "Well, now I have to put one on ebay." Later I decided to not only put it on ebay but to donate anything made on this mug to the building fund.

Well it's not even been 24 hours and the mug isd up to $250! That's crazy! God is so good! I'm totally shocked...and there's still 4 das left...I can't wait to see what God's going to do with this.

So anyway, check out the listing:

Death

Why is it no one wants to talk about death? It's like Loreta Lynn said, "Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die." I do think about death, rather often. Sometimes in a suicidal way, though not so much anymore. Most of the time in a matter-of-fact-planning-for-the-future sort of way. I have decided that I wuold like to know about my inpendong doom-my family and I would benefit from the closure we'd be able to get. If I do have to die suddenly, I'd prefer spontainious combustion...it would be a funny way to die...just be minding my own business and going about my day then BOOM-done. Everything's worth doing if you get a good story out of it, I wouldn't be able to tell the story but it would be a good story none the less.

I also plan my funeral. I have instructed Wes to pay Mrs. Robinson, Mandy and Spirit in the Sky. I would like a slide show but it would be all self taken pictures, being the one who always takes the pictures in the family means you are rarely the photo's subject so the slide show will be a bit boring.

I think about Wes and any combination of the kids dying. Not as deeply though, it's too hard. I think about it more when Wes goes out of town. I always expect him to die in a car accident, then I start tinking about all the legal/money stuff I'd have to do...I can't think about actual life after he dies (even hypothetically) just the management of that life.

Ironically I do not have a will or a plan for the kids in case Wes and I both die, I don't' even have adequate life insurance...you would think that I would put action to these very important plans. Oh well, I guess I'll get around to it eventua

Bean's (first) broken arm

yddighs y0000000000000000000sssssssssssssssssssssssp;pnnnnn[[;[Well, Bean broke his arm a week ago. I wanted to blog about it earlier but I'm too lazy to do something in a timely manner I was sick this week. Here's how it went down:

Last Friday we went to our church's first Kite Nite, it was awesome, great weather, a (free) cook out, hanging out with friends, big field full of parents getting kites up, letting their children hold the string then winding up the string of the abandoned kite when the wind died down happy kite fliers. Wes and I were having a great time, our kids are finally able to play without constant supervision within 18 inches at all times (yes, I see the irony...some may call it neglect, I call it irony). Here are some pics:

See how much fun Bean is having flying his kite?

So the kids are playing at the playground, Wes and I are talking maybe 10 yards from them and I hear crying. I look over and say something like "That's our kid, run!" Our friend who was keeping an eye on her kids and a doctor who I've seen at church but have never actually met were there and the doctor was checking him out. Bean was freaking out so I took him away from the commotion..and the doctor...maybe not my best decision ever but Bean gets more upset when there's a lot of attention on him. At this point, I'm convinced Bean needs to go to the ER, Wes thinks we should wait and see. He was moving his hand and fingers, so Wes wasn't being totally ridiculous. Then I start crying, the Bris help us and pray for us, other friends offer to go on home so watch Goose and Si while we go to the hospital.

We go home, throw some stuff in a bag, after our last trip to the ER I was not going to go unprepared! Plus Bean needed Buddy and Blankly Blue. We went to the ER and were in a room in 10 minutes, I don't' think we were ever alone more then 15 minutes. It was amazing!

The doctor came in and checked him all over, she was fantastic. We had to get an x-ray in less then 15 minutes she came in and said "Do you want to see what you did to your arm?" So then I knew he broke it. We saw, it was a distal radial buckle fracture...that means "not bad,a couple weeks in a cast" to you and me. We got back in the room and I looks at Wes and said "In your face!" then realized how dead-inside that reaction was to my son's broken arm. My bad. He got a splint, we picked up the other kids and were in bed by 11:00...amazing...

Then on Monday we went to get Bean's cast. Mrs. Bri kept Goose, Si, the baby I watch (in addition to her 3-thanks Bri!) while Bean and I went, it was another fast appointment, God is Good! Bean getting his cast:

Leanne, the cast lady is also an artist and does designs on casts, Bean chose Spider man. She said it was her first Spidey cast, he's an original (duh)

\]ed[f[Can you even get over how cute he is???

BlogThings.com

There's this site that has fun quizzes...I went there today to escape...one of those days...now you can learn a little about me...

I do have to blog about Isaiah's arm...I just son't feel like it today!

You Belong in 1963

You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule - oh, and drugs too.

(Just legal drugs! lol!)

You Are 67% Indie

You're a very indie person, and admit it, you look down a little on people who strive to be normal.

You'll indulge in a little mainstream pop culture every now and then. But for you, anything not indie is a guilty pleasure!

You Passed High School with an D

You have the brains of a high school graduate... at least!

YIKES!!! Someone get me a non-fiction book stat!!

You Should Be a Joke Writer

You're totally hilarious, and you can find the humor in any situation.

Whether you're spouting off zingers, comebacks, or jokes about life...

You usually can keep a crowd laughing, and you have plenty of material.

You have the makings of a great comedian - or comedic writer.

No...stop...you're embarassing me!

You Are 56% Republican

You aren't a full fledged Republican yet, but it's probably the party that fits you best.

You probably consider yourself an independent Republican. You usually support the party, but you also think for yourself!

I prefer the term "Republipunk"

You Are a Smart American

You know a lot about US history, and you're opinions are probably well informed.

Congratulations on bucking stereotypes. Now go show some foreigners how smart Americans can be.

Woohoo!

You Are 74% Creative

You are beyond creative. You are a true artist - even if it's not in the conventional sense of the word.

You love creating for its own sake, and you find yourself quite inspired at times.

Duh ;)

You are 47% Taurus

That's weird...I'm 100% Piecies ><>*<><

There's a Chance You Could Be Violent

Overall, you're a pretty chill person - and you have a good handle on your emotions.

Sometimes your anger gets the best of you, and end up regretting how you act.

Try to curb your temper more often. It only has to get out of control once to do some damage.

Don't let the parents of the kids I watch know!!

Who Should Paint You: M.C. Escher

Open and raw, you would let your true self show for your portrait.

And even if your painting turned out a bit dark, it would be honest.

That's cool, he's my favorite artist!

You Are Paper

Crafty and creative, you are able to adapt freely to almost any situation.

People tend to underestimate you, unless they've truly seen what you are capable of.

Deep down, you're always scheming and thinking up new plans. Your mind is constantly active.

You are quite capable of anything you dream of. You can always figure out a way to get what you want.

You can wrap a rock person up in your sheet of trickery.

A scissor person can sneak up and cut you to pieces.

When you fight: No one can anticipate your next move

If someone makes you mad: You'll attack them mercilessly when they're unprepared

I did this one for you, Amy!

Pen!s rule #34

**Warning-lots of boy words mentioned**

We have lots of very specific rules about private parts around here. Along with the routine "good touch/bad touch" rules, we have had to add No
Pen!ses in the kitchen, No Pen!ses on the couch, don't help your brother shake his pen!s after he goes pee pee...the list goes on. Today I had to add you may not paint your or anyone else's pen!s...or butt...

Oh yes, I thought, "It's beautiful, the boys need a bath, I'd love to get rid of finish up these HUGE coloring books I'll set them out on the deck and let them paint with water colors totally unsupervised...what could go wrong??"

While I won't post nake-o pics of my kids, you can get the g-rated pics...

We also learned a new word today! While I was issuing the new decree, Bean pulled up his pen!s and said "and...and...this.." "Yes, that's your scr0dum" All you moms of girls have no idea...(wink)

There's no place like Home(school)

Hey! If I ever get to write a book-that's what I'll call it...unless it's not about homeschooling...that just wouldn't make any sense. Good morning to all 7 of my readers...who no doubt will be reading this in about 3 weeks after we already talked about everything I'm posting...I'm not bitter...really...you complain when I don't blog enough and then don't notice when I blog every day...hmmm...can you tell I'm "hormonal" (read "PMSy") @@

I went to the library yesterday and Miss Wendy the lovely Librarian said all surprised "Is school out today?" "No, we home school" I smile "We're on a field trip." Miss Wendy said "Oh! Where are you going!?" I smile again and glance around at the three kids, the double stroller full of books, jackets, snacks, toys, and anything else needed to get babies and toddlers through an afternoon at the library..."Here..."

I did not put together that yesterday was tax day so the library was FULL of people getting their free tax help. There was an old biker guy taking up an entire table in the kids section with some sloppily scrawled notes, a few encyclopedias and a type writer...yes type writer complete with white out...working on...I don't know his tenth grade paper on economics that is 45 years over due...his economics paper would be today's history lesson on the Industrial Revolution...oh, that's mean...I'll take that back..my bad.

Last week I was babysitting two 5th and 7th grade boys who could not get their minds around homeschooling, not having a set schedule, not having homework, no dress code, and "What would happen if Eliya got suspended?" They asked me and Eliya a bunch of questions, really good questions, they were especially bright boys, and from the other room I heard Eliya say "I had the choice to go to school, I decided to be home schooled." Oh how my heart filled with love and pride for my daughter, for homeschooling, and for the bravery I had to allow her to choose, but most of all that she chose to stay home.

Oh the things I do for you

I have looked all over for this video, hopefully the link doesn't get broken-most of the other sites with this video were not working. Ahh...Christopher W@alken...How I love him...he's really a terrible actor. He rarely looks away from the cue cards, he has the weirdest speech pattern I've ever heard...he does some creepy characters...yet they are all genius, genius I say! Instead of "awesome" I'm gonna start saying "Christopher Walken" like "Wow, those shoes are so Christopher Walken! Where did you get those?" or "Man, did you hear that new David Crowder*Band CD-it's so Christopher Walken!"

Oh yeah, here's the video, watch out, it's dirty...;)

I have been working on my relationship with God lately-not hard...mostly I've been thinking about working on my relationship with God ;) I've been reading a lot of the bible in the past week. I have this hunger for more, to read the stuff I haven't read before (which is about 90%-like I said, I'm working on it) This morning I read 2 Peter-whoa, it's good stuff. The verse I'm working on memorizing is Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I might see the wonderful things in your law. That's exactly what God showed me this morning-such wonderful things.

Anyway, when I was done I realized I forgot to put on my glasses. Until I got them last week I had no idea how much pain I was in. I've been a reading machine since my glasses, I've had no headaches, my eyes are not getting tired, it's amazing. So when I realized my glasses were on the counter I thought "How stupid! Here I have a way to avoid pain and fatigue, a way to see better and I didn't even use it!" Then the sweet gentle Counselor said "It's kinda like your walk with God, huh?"

Yep, that's exactly how I've been treating God and His Word. There on my desk is the the one thing that will strengthen me, guide me and help me, not to avoid pain and fatigue but live through it (and good times) with grace and holiness. And most of the time I just don't use it. Somebody smack me next time you see me, then ask me if I've gotten my verse down yet.

Penelope

Here's a funny clip from SNL...now I, my MIL and SILs twist our hair whenever we catch ourselves trying to one-up eachother...
