I met my hero

Almost a month ago I got to go to Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Live Event. Wes and I took Financial Peace University two years ago, facilitated a small class last year and are getting ready to co-facilitate a large class starting this week. Because my church is awesome (don't judge us by our site) they decided to send Wes and I for free-woohoo! Then a couple weeks before the event Brian (our minister) called and asked us if we could go on Friday instead of Thursday-he got platinum tickets for buying so many through our church and couldn't use them-I said "HECK YEAH!!!"

Platinum tickets include a dinner/Q&A with Dave Ramsey, goody bags, front and center seating and a bunch of other perks. You know I was loving it!

The day of the Live Event came and they were calling for an ice storm-here in Kentucky we don't take well to the words Ice storm. Back in 2003 we had one that knock the power out in a lot of the city for a week-it was awful. So all day long I was checking the site to see if they were going to cancel-they didn't! We left with plenty of time to accommodate for the light dusting of snow-boy did they call that wrong! Wes and I went in, got out fancy lanyards that got us into the "Platinum" areas. As soon as Dave entered the room I ran to him like a 12 year old meeting the New kids on the block the Back Street Boys Who is the latest tweeny phase? Anyway he was gracious enough to let us have out picture taken with him.

Ahh! That still makes my so excited! Here's our dinner. I don't eat much beef so I could not eat all this prime rib...then the rest of the night I regretted eating any of it...

Here's Dave (yeah we're on a first name basis now) answering a question.

Here he is teaching that night. Wow he's so awesome!

Dave Ramsey you rock, because of you Wes and I are digging our way out of debt and trying desperately to be weird. Eliya thinks credit cards and Ouija boards are in the same category and I get to charge my 4 year old for leaving his shoes in the kitchen. Your classes have radically changed our lives forever.

Weird Weird Weird

I was at Walmart buying Easter candy a few days ago and noticed these.

They are cute little prefilled "religious" Easter Eggs...awww...there's an angel praying inside one, a cross necklace and oh what is this?

Yep it's a menorah eraser. A MENORAH!!!! Yes, the Jewish candle holder to celebrate Hanukkah!! There is so much wrong here I don't' know where to start. ...Oh and to prove I didn't make it up, here's the pic of the top of the box.

Okay, it's blurry but you can see the menorah on there. Anyone else think this is crazy???

Blah

I'm feeling very melancholy today. And it's not even 8:00. Hmmm...time to refill the meds I guess...

Silas' speech therapist is coming over this morning to do his official evaluation. The OT came last week and said he defiantly has Sensory Integration Disorder...fun...Now I have to juggle Bean's Preschool-where he gets his speech therapy, his vision therapy-across town (that insurance prolly won't pay for) Silas' Speech and occupational therapy (at least they come to the house) oh yeah and babysit everyday, school Eliya, clean my house (for real clean, too, since Silas's therapists are coming to the house twice a week) and all my other wifely/mom and church duties. Ugh...

Well, I guess I need to quit boring you with my complaints-these things really are small. The important thing is making sure my boys are well.

I don't have much to say today

So I'll post more pics!!!

Here's Eliya asleep in her skates. She swore she wasn't tired....

Me trying to fly a kite...I never was able to get it higher then that.

Kiddos at the pumpkin patch.

Trunk or Treat 2007

Isaiah's first day of school-Baby had to get in on the action...

Oh! I just thought of something! I have to get glasses! I'm actually pretty excited-apparently I haven't been seeing well for a while-I just didn't know any better. She asked me if I saw halos and starbursts around lights at night. I started laughing and said "Wait a minute-you meant not everyone sees that??" She laughed at me the rest of the exam...who knew?? (well everyone else with out astigmatism...but, you know, besides that...)

So many babies so little time

I know like a million pregnant women right now...okay it's more like 7 or 8...which is awesome. I really like to make baby blankets, well I guess they are afghans for baby showers and such. A few weeks ago I realized the first of these babies will be due soon so I started crocheting-I love it, I've gotten books from the library since I only know 2 stitches-they're quite versatile-and am loving learning new things.

For instance there is a single stitch and a double stitch and half double stitch. A half double stitch IS NOT the same as a single stitch!!! There's proof that all those old yarn toting grannies that you thought were a little off really are quite crazy!! No wonder no one can make change anymore-our math is all backwards!!

Choo-Choo (I'm getting back on track bu-dun-crash) I'm making this blanket...stitching...counting...messing up...undoing stitches...counting again (more fuzzy math)...stitching...re-convincing Baby that yarn is not a ball, sure it's a sphere but that doesn't mean you can throw it-especially not the one I'm currently using...re rolling yarn..stitching...counting...CRAP! This baby is the SECOND baby due...okay, stitch faster! change the pattern to something easier...do I have enough yarn?? Must make blankies!!

I once gave an almost finished blanket at a baby shower. I'm trying not to do that this time...so if you get a lovely burp cloth, do not be surprised.

NCAA

Ahhh...NCAA Tournament time...the only time of the year I actually want to watch sports. So far I'm 3 for 3...if KY doesn't pick it up in the next 8 minutes and 6 seconds I will have some problems...crap, they just turned it over...stupid Cats...don't they know what I have riding on this?? No, not money, no bets...it's far more important than that...I have to beat Wes. That is the ultimate goal. He's also 3 for 3...only time will tell. It's time I print up our picks and post them on the fridge so we canput big red X-es on eachother's brackets...good times...

A post for you

I've been lazy! I've been reading other people's blogs but neglecting my own...I'm sorry poor blog...I will try to get here more often. At the End of February I went on a Crafter's Retreat with church-most ppl were scrapping, I tried my hand at needle felting. We had a blast- I sort of forgot till I saw these pictures again-wow it was fun!

First Amy picked me up in her husband's stick shift-I screamed at least 3 times and thought I was going to die at least once (that wasn't really Amy's fault-she actually did great). Of course I had to forgive her because she surprised me with this!

My birthday was comming up that week so she baked me a cake! She actually decorates beautiful cakes but bought those candy letters b/c she thought they were my favorite-they are actually Wes's favorite...and I turned 28...NOT 29, let me repeat I am NOT 29! So I fixed my cake:

So then we crafted the night away, there were 14 of us, I think 11 people were scrapbooking apparently we need to have at least a 1:2 Cricut:Scrapper ratio. Here's all the Cricuts and another cool Cricut-on-steroids thing:

While those 11 crazy people patient scrappers glued teeny tiny letters and dots and other decorations I was busy making an Easter bunny:

He turned out really cute-I never did get a finished picture of him...

Then finally Amy and I decided to head to bed...at 1:27 AM!!! We went to our room that was equiped with a double bed and bunk beds-Amy graciously took the bunk bed..I would have but she insisted.

Then when she exclaimed "I dont' think you could fit in here!" I didn't really care where she slept...;) Then Amy had to talk my leg off and I stayed up talking till 2:30. And to be fair, since I posted a pic of Amy in bed-here's the one she took of me:

We got up and discovered the shower facilities only had 3 tempertures-cold, colder or coldest. Is it just me or is this just a pipe sticking out of the wall??

And this was our water on full blast:

Nice huh?

I had a blast. I'm so glad Briana, Kristen, Amy and Wes talked me into going! I can't wait till next year!
