I met my hero

Almost a month ago I got to go to Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover Live Event. Wes and I took Financial Peace University two years ago, facilitated a small class last year and are getting ready to co-facilitate a large class starting this week. Because my church is awesome (don't judge us by our site) they decided to send Wes and I for free-woohoo! Then a couple weeks before the event Brian (our minister) called and asked us if we could go on Friday instead of Thursday-he got platinum tickets for buying so many through our church and couldn't use them-I said "HECK YEAH!!!"

Platinum tickets include a dinner/Q&A with Dave Ramsey, goody bags, front and center seating and a bunch of other perks. You know I was loving it!

The day of the Live Event came and they were calling for an ice storm-here in Kentucky we don't take well to the words Ice storm. Back in 2003 we had one that knock the power out in a lot of the city for a week-it was awful. So all day long I was checking the site to see if they were going to cancel-they didn't! We left with plenty of time to accommodate for the light dusting of snow-boy did they call that wrong! Wes and I went in, got out fancy lanyards that got us into the "Platinum" areas. As soon as Dave entered the room I ran to him like a 12 year old meeting the New kids on the block the Back Street Boys Who is the latest tweeny phase? Anyway he was gracious enough to let us have out picture taken with him.

Ahh! That still makes my so excited! Here's our dinner. I don't eat much beef so I could not eat all this prime rib...then the rest of the night I regretted eating any of it...

Here's Dave (yeah we're on a first name basis now) answering a question.

Here he is teaching that night. Wow he's so awesome!

Dave Ramsey you rock, because of you Wes and I are digging our way out of debt and trying desperately to be weird. Eliya thinks credit cards and Ouija boards are in the same category and I get to charge my 4 year old for leaving his shoes in the kitchen. Your classes have radically changed our lives forever.

Mandy,
You are so funny. Briana and I sat here reading this and just laugh at you. Could you write my sermons, or atleast some funny parts for them?!? Briana says, ....... oh I forget. You will need to ask her. I am really glad you enjoyed Dave and are co-leading the large class. Be sure to blog the class, at least what you can.

My wife and I are out of debt just recently after two years of saying "no" to a lot of stuff we really didn't need. It's all worth it in the end, so keep it up!
