I have been working on my relationship with God lately-not hard...mostly I've been thinking about working on my relationship with God ;) I've been reading a lot of the bible in the past week. I have this hunger for more, to read the stuff I haven't read before (which is about 90%-like I said, I'm working on it) This morning I read 2 Peter-whoa, it's good stuff. The verse I'm working on memorizing is Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I might see the wonderful things in your law. That's exactly what God showed me this morning-such wonderful things.

Anyway, when I was done I realized I forgot to put on my glasses. Until I got them last week I had no idea how much pain I was in. I've been a reading machine since my glasses, I've had no headaches, my eyes are not getting tired, it's amazing. So when I realized my glasses were on the counter I thought "How stupid! Here I have a way to avoid pain and fatigue, a way to see better and I didn't even use it!" Then the sweet gentle Counselor said "It's kinda like your walk with God, huh?"

Yep, that's exactly how I've been treating God and His Word. There on my desk is the the one thing that will strengthen me, guide me and help me, not to avoid pain and fatigue but live through it (and good times) with grace and holiness. And most of the time I just don't use it. Somebody smack me next time you see me, then ask me if I've gotten my verse down yet.
